Browser Extension License

This license covers the bookmark.land browser extension (the "Extension"), published by Jinko LLC, d/b/a bookmark.land. It's in addition to our Terms of Service, which apply to your use of bookmark.land through the Extension. If the two conflict on something about the Extension itself, this license wins.

1. License

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Extension on browsers you control, free of charge, to use your bookmark.land account. Updates we release through the browser's extension store are covered by this license.

2. What you may not do

You may not:

  • sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Extension, or publish a modified version of it;
  • remove our name or notices from it;
  • use it to access accounts other than your own;
  • reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to.

Open-source components inside the Extension remain under their own licenses, which take precedence for those components.

3. Privacy and permissions

What the Extension can access, and why, is explained on the Browser Extension Privacy page. In short:

  • it reads the address and title of the tab you're viewing, to save it and to show whether it's already saved;
  • it reads your bookmark.land sign-in session;
  • it reads browser bookmarks only when you run an import, and never changes them.

It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and doesn't read page content. Our Privacy Policy applies to the data it sends to bookmark.land.

4. Ownership

We (and our licensors) own the Extension. This license doesn't transfer ownership. It only gives you the right to use it as described here.

5. No warranty; liability

The Extension is provided "as is", to the extent the law allows, and the disclaimers and limitation of liability in sections 9 and 10 of the Terms of Service apply to it.

6. Ending this license

You can end this license at any time by uninstalling the Extension. We can end it if you break this license or the Terms of Service, or if we stop offering the Extension. When it ends, uninstall the Extension. Your bookmark.land account and library are not affected.

7. Browser stores

You may get the Extension from a browser store, such as the Chrome Web Store. The store's own terms also apply to your download, but the store isn't responsible for the Extension; we are.
