Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) that bookmark.land uses, and how you control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Our approach
We use only two categories:
- Strictly necessary: sign-in, security, and remembering your privacy choices. bookmark.land can't work without these, so they can't be switched off.
- Analytics (optional): PostHog product analytics, which tells us which features are used so we can improve them.
We don't use advertising or marketing cookies, and we don't let third parties place cookies for their own purposes.
How your region affects the default
- Where the law requires consent (for example the EEA, UK, Quebec and Brazil, and anywhere we can't determine your location), analytics stays off until you choose Accept.
- Elsewhere (for example most of the United States), analytics is on by default. A notice tells you so, and you can choose Opt out, or turn analytics off at any time. Choosing OK or closing that notice is not consent to session recordings: they only start if you turn analytics on in Cookie settings.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, analytics is off in every region, and we show that your opt-out request was honored. If you later turn analytics on yourself in Cookie settings, we follow that choice.
- If you travel: a choice you made explicitly (Accept, Reject, Opt out, or a change in Cookie settings) goes with this browser everywhere. If you only clicked OK on the opt-out notice and then visit from a region that requires consent, we ask you again.
We work out your region from your IP address at the country (and, in the US, state) level. We don't store your IP address with your choice.
Change your choice at any time: open Cookie settings from the site footer, or from the Legal menu in the app. Turning analytics off stops new analytics data from being collected. To delete analytics data already collected, use the privacy request form.

Cloudflare also measures page performance on our site without cookies and without identifying you.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, signing in and parts of bookmark.land will stop working. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how bookmark.land works.
